Stryker is a space created by Ellen Stryker Bischoff that intersects sustainability in upcycling fibers, high-quality garments, and whimsical designs. There are two sides to our closet. One side is a curated selection of upcycled one-of-a-kind pieces, and the other is a collection of evergreen staples made from either recycled or organic cotton. We try to stay away from the use of synthetic garments, in hopes of being one less brand to contribute to microplastic pollution in our waterways. Disco Cowgirl Wool Pants

Here is a chunk of my soul. I thrifted them as stained white wool pants from a shop in Burlington, Vermont in 2023. Recently, I was food prepping at the bakery I work at, and they had me chopping red onions. I decided I couldn’t let the skins go to waste, as there were so many of them and I had to use them for a dye project. So, I dyed these over the course of 2-3 days to achieve this gorgeous pea green - yellow color. I then stitched them for about 4-5 days with wool yarn. They feature the most amazing cropped fit and are definitely delicately vintage. They are really special and I’d love for them to go to someone who will appreciate them for all that they are.

Vintage Quilted Star Vest

Embroidered with the most intention, I am so in love with this piece. I picked up this vest at a thrift store in Wellfleet, Cape Cod, with the instant plan to stitch a pattern of star flowers into it. It just makes my heart flutter, and I hope it does the same for you!
