Natural Dyeing w/ Indigo Workshop

Join us for a morning in my garden in Orleans, Cape Cod, Massachusetts, learning about the art of indigo dyeing, and get hands-on to dye your own beach tote!

We will sip on iced coffees, learn about the process of natural dyeing with Indigofera tinctoria, an indigo species native to southern India. This dye will yield a range of light to dark blues, depending on the materials we dye, the order and timing of the vat, and how many dips we do for each piece.

You will learn a recipe for a 5-gallon indigo vat and come home with a little jar of indigo to make your own vat at home, alongside a 100% recycled cotton naturally dyed beach tote bag, and up to three garments of your own that you might like to upcycle. You can either bring your pieces home that day to wash on your own, or pick them up, laundered, the next morning.
