These unisex painters pants are often thrifted, and when I can’t find the right sizing, I source them from my local paint store. They’re all hand-dyed with sequoia root to create a range of pale purples to light browns. Each pair is unique in its own way and has a different embroidery palette with recycled off-cut fabric swatches from brands like Ace & Jig and Patriae.
They are named after Neil Young's Sugar Mountain, which is one of my favorite songs. I first made these pants when I moved from Jackson Hole, to Vermont, and I took the meaning of that song to be that of moving on, and growing out of certain periods of life. These pants are a testament to growing older, but keeping our childlike wonders in tact. <3
Care: Sequoia is a natural dye that will change over time. They start out as a mauve-brown color and gradually fade to a light brown over time. Wash sparingly, inside-out. Lay flat to dry or tumble dry low. Store out of sunlight*
